Katie Thurston of the Bachelorette sparks romance rumors with Nick Uhlenhuth

Katie Thurston has our complete focus after a date that seemed more than amicable with Nick Uhlenhuth.

“I used to hate having a birthday so close to the New Year but now I love it! It’s this full circle moment each year that marks a brand new chapter,” the former Bachelorette, 32, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, January 3. “Im excited to be 32 in 2023. In my gut, I just know, this is going to be one hell of a year and I’m so excited! 🥂 My 2023 mantra: Watch me 😎.”

Followers who paid close attention quickly noticed Thurston’s single picture with Uhlenhuth, 28, as well as several group pictures. For his part, the Circle alum posted multiple pictures of Thurston on social media.

“I am absolutely excited about 2023. I genuinely believe that it’s going to be a fantastic year of experience and personal progress. On Monday, January 2, the former Netflix celebrity posted a photo to Instagram with the message “Brace up!!!

One TikTok user claimed that the couple shared a kiss in a picture that was not posted to either of their accounts.

The possibility of a new relationship for Thurston follows her breakup with John Hersey. The former pair got together in 2021 while watching The Bachelorette’s season 17. During week two of the competition, the former bank marketing manager at the time sent Hersey, 28, home. After crashing the series in an effort to win her heart, Thurston later got engaged to Blake Moynes.

Thurston and Moynes, 32, ended their relationship three months after the series conclusion in July 2021. A source later stated in November 2021 that the reality star had moved on with Hersey.

The bartender defended his then-girlfriend on social media in reaction to rumors about their dating history.

“Katie and I developed an incredible and deep friendship over the last half year or so. The circumstances by which this friendship formed as a series of crazy, random, and coincidental events, that I’m sure you will all hear about at a later time,” he wrote on Reddit that same month. “My point, for now, is that we were ALWAYS platonic. Even during my short stint on the season, we never had a chance to foster anything romantic (read as: John blew his chance and left the next day hahaha). The boundaries of our friendship with respect to her ongoing relationship never even required addressing, because it was never a thought in our minds that we would ever be anything more.”

Less than a year into their relationship, the couple announced their breakup. Statement: No, we are not a couple, Thurston wrote in June 2022 via Instagram Story.

Hersey also issued a statement in which he discussed their breakup. “I enjoy sharing memorable experiences, especially humorous ones, with all of you. The joyful people. The ludicrous, humiliating, and sincere ones. But I’m not sure if sharing the sad ones will ever be simpler. We are no longer dating, as Katie previously mentioned,” he revealed via Instagram Stories. This choice was plainly difficult to make, and it was not one that was made lightly.

The California native added: “I appreciate every one of you that has supported us throughout this journey. We could not (and would not) be here without you.”
