Bad Boys 4 will take place! Franchise actors Martin Lawrence and Will Smith announced the information on their individual Instagram profiles on Tuesday by posting the same video with the message, “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME!”

Before “Shake Ya Tailfeather” by Nelly, Diddy, and Murphy Lee, from the Bad Boys II album, started playing via the speakers, Smith, 54, recorded himself as he drove to Lawrence’s house, assuring viewers that he was going to deliver a “clue” as to what his big announcement was.

Smith said to the camera, “I wish I was you, not knowing what I’m about to show me.

When Smith arrived at his co-star Lawrence’s house, the 57-year-old actor smiled and remarked, “Is about that time?”

It was around that time, Smith turned the camera to them both after the two had embraced and cheered.

He said, “it’s official, y’all. Production of the fourth movie has begun. Bad dudes forever, my baby!

Smith appeared to corroborate the title of the picture by holding up four fingers, but Lawrence quickly reminded his pal that the third movie was also titled Bad Boys for Life.

However, we shouldn’t have called it that Smith laughed and remarked, “But this is Bad Boys 4; the 3 was the ‘e’.” It’s a done deal!

The development follows Lawrence’s declaration that he had “at least” one more action-comedy installment in the works in a July 2022 interview with Ebony magazine.

Bad Boys from 1995 served as the franchise’s debut film, and Smith has since worked on two of the sequels. The three movies brought in more than $840 million worldwide.

The announcement of the fourth film follows Smith’s newsworthy face-slapping of Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards in March 2022. Ebony claims that Lawrence “dismisses (ed) rumors” that the next Bad Boys was postponed due to the incident.

For us to come together and demonstrate that we can deliver and draw audiences to the box office — that two Black stars, two comedy stars, could make money at the box office [was enormous],” the latter said of the original.
