Dave Bautista hopes he’ll land a rom-com lead
Dave Bautista would want to be the lead in a romantic comedy....
Dave Bautista provided an intriguing update while promoting his most recent movie, M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin. He just had a conversation about his upcoming projects in an interview. He didn’t share all of his intentions for the year, but he did say that a My Spy sequel was the first thing he was thinking of doing after his spooky performance in Shyamalan’s most recent.
Bautista declared, “Well, I’m absolutely going to do the My Spy sequel.” “Since we begin later next month, I can say with certainty that. Because I adore the first movie, I’ve been pushing to accomplish that for a very long time, and now I’m headed to South Africa to do it. It was a lot of fun. So we’re going to follow that up.” Back in 2020, Amazon and STX were considering making a sequel to the movie, with Bautista returning along with co-star Chloe Coleman, director Paul Segal, and writers Eric and John Hoeber. The remarks made by Bautista provide further evidence that JJ, Sophie, and Kate’s narrative will be continued soon.
In the first My Spy, JJ, a CIA agent, watched over the in-laws of a risky illegal arms dealer who might have designs for a small nuclear weapon. However, during the operation, the family’s 9-year-old daughter uses him as a bargaining chip to force him to spend time with her and teach her spycraft. After getting reinstated with the CIA, the movie finished on a humorous note with JJ moving in with Sophie and her mother Kate in Chicago.
