Dungeon and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which has been in development hell for years, will finally hit theatres next month. The comedy-adventure film boasts a stellar ensemble and is being directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The amusing friendship between the thieves is depicted in a new clip that was unveiled at IGN’s Fan Fest 2023, and it also provides fans a preview of the feature’s epic journey.

In an attempt to cast a “Talk with Dead” magic, Edgin, Holga, Simon, and Doric are shown in the video. Simon’s explanation that the dead guy will come to life after a spell is done on him is amusing as he explains that he will only do so for five questions before dying once more and never coming back to life. Nevertheless, as the dead man comes to life, things aren’t as simple as they seem, and Edgin ends up wasting all the questions without receiving any useful information. Even though we don’t fully understand the background of this scene, it provides us a good impression of the next film. A montage of the team preparing for upcoming battles is also shown.

The screenplay was co-written by Goldstein and Daley and Michael Gilio from a story by Chris McKay and Gilio. The story follows a group of thieves who “helped the wrong person steal the wrong thing” as they set out to find a long-lost artefact. However, when they encounter the wrong people, their lovely adventure goes horribly wrong.

In a funny and action-packed journey, the film promises to bring the enigmatic universe and lighthearted spirit of the classic roleplaying game to the big screen. On the basis of its production design and world-building, the film appears to be remarkably faithful to its inspiration. The conflict that our heroes will encounter is well-represented in the trailers that have already been released.

Hugh Grant plays Forge Fitzwilliam the Rogue, Daisy Head plays a Red Wizard of Thay, Jason Wong plays Dralas, Chloe Coleman plays Rylan Jackson, Michelle Rodriguez plays Holga the Barbarian, Regé-Jean Page plays Xenk the Paladin, Justice Smith plays Simon the Sorcerer, Sophia Lillis plays Doric, a liefling Druid, and Sophia Lillis plays Doric. Moreover, cameo appearances from the Critical Role actors from the Dungeons & Dragons web series will be made in the movie.
