Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, a Shrek spinoff from DreamWorks Animation, has now made more than $421 million worldwide. The movie’s domestic gross increased to more than $5 million this past weekend, pushing its total to more than $166 million. The movie made more than $9 million abroad, boosting its global gross to more than $255 million.

Puss in Boots: The Final Wish made more than $15 million in box office revenue overall this weekend. The movie had to compete this weekend with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the most recent entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to introducing the antagonist Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), who will make a comeback in the 2025 MCU film Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the third Ant-Man movie also marked the beginning of the franchise’s Phase 5. The fact that Puss in Boots: The Last Wish may currently be purchased digitally made for further competition at the box office. With its $15 million this weekend, the movie has now made more than $421 million globally.

Joel Crawford helmed Puss in Boots: The Final Wish. It is a follow-up to Puss in Boots from 2011, and Antonio Banderas plays the cat pirate in it. Salma Hayek, who had played Kitty Softpaws in the first movie, also appears in this one.

Puss is now down to just one of his nine lives in Puss in Boots: The Final Wish. Puss embarks on a quest with Kitty and a dog named Perrito (Harvey Guillén) to find a wishing star in order to obtain all nine of his lives once more after realising that he is mortal, like everyone else. The group must contend with Goldilocks and her bear family (Florence Pugh), as well as Jack Horner (John Mulaney), who wants to take the wishing star for himself.
