The EGOT award for Viola Davis was literally written in the stars. When the actress received a Grammy on Sunday for the best audiobook, narration, and storytelling recording for her memoir Finding Me, she cemented her place in the prestigious Hollywood group.

Since accepting the honor, Davis, 57, has received appreciation on social media, notably from Jennifer Hudson, another EGOT winner who referred to her as a “living LEGEND.” But on Monday, one supporter went above and beyond.

On Monday, the star of The Woman King posted an Instagram picture of a string of congratulations words that had been written in the sky all across Los Angeles.

We adore you, Viola, and your EGOT! According to the note’s images and the video Davis shot as it was being written, letter by letter, in the sky, the message was clear.

Davis thanked her supporters in her comment and expressed her gratitude to CBS and the Recording Academy. She wrote, “You all have blown my mind and moved me TREMENDOUSLY.”

After Sunday’s victory, Davis qualified for the EGOT. She had already won an Emmy for How to Get Away with Murder, an Oscar for Fences, and two Tony Awards prior to the ceremony (for both King Hedly II and the Broadway production of Fences).

“God, oh God! In order to honor the 6-year-old Viola’s life, joy, trauma, and everything else, I wrote this book “In her award speech, she remarked. “And what a voyage it has been. Just got EGOT!”

She expressed gratitude to “everyone who was a part” of her “story” and singled out her husband, Julius Tennon, and daughter Genesis, 12, as “the best chapter yet.” “You are the best chapter in my book, my life, and my delight.”

In her first-ever Grammy nomination, Davis triumphed over fellow actors Jamie Foxx, Mel Brooks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Questlove.

Her road to the EGOT began in 2001 when she received her second nomination and her first Tony for her Broadway performance as Tonya in King Hedley II. Then, in 2010 and 2017, respectively, she won a Tony and an Oscar for her performances as Rose Maxson in Fences on Broadway and in the movies.

She made history with her Emmy victory for How to Get Away with Murder, being the first Black actress to win best lead actress in a drama series.
