Knock at the Cabin has scheduled its Peacock streaming debut for March 24 just days after it was revealed that a physical release would occur on May 9. While a PVOD release gave viewers the option to watch the movie in the privacy of their own homes just a few weeks ago, this will be its streaming debut. The M. Night Shyamalan-directed film will be in good company on Peacock with movies like the recently released unrated version of M3GAN and the nauseating cult classic Terrifier.
Knock at the Cabin, Shyamalan’s first film since 2021’s Old, has drawn mixed reviews from critics and some criticism for giving away too much in the trailers. Fans’ main criticism of the film is that they felt it deviated too far from its inspiration, Paul G. Tremblay’s The Cabin at the End of the World. The film was one of Shyamalan’s lowest-grossing productions, grossing $54.1 million during its theatrical run while more than doubling its production costs.
In Knock at the Cabin, Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge play a couple who take their little daughter Wen (Kristen Cui) and head to a remote cabin for a pleasant week away from the stresses of daily life. The film transports viewers to the creepy Pine Barrens of New Jersey. A group of four intruders steals into the remote home as the family is relaxing on their vacation, but danger lurks in the trees. The intruders, led by a man by the name of Leonard (Dave Bautista), reveal that in order to prevent the end of the world, the family must make a leap of faith and sacrifice one of their own. Together with Abby Quinn from Little Women, Rupert Grint from Server, Nikki Amuka-Bird from Avenue 5, and others star.
