Rise of the Beasts' status as a reboot had not been established...
“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” poster revealed statues and characters at SXSW
The characters from this summer’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts are represented by enormous monuments that Paramount has unveiled, and the Autobots are on the move in Texas. The figures, which are now on exhibit at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, include characters like Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal. The sculptures were unveiled in front of the movie’s cast, which included Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, and Tobe Nwigwe, as well as the film’s director, Steven Caple Jr. On the occasion, the project’s producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, also made an appearance.
The statues will be unveiled during the renowned event as the beginning of a campaign that will take them across the globe and give them the chance to stop at some of the major cities on the planet. The intimidating Autobots will be present in Mexico City, New York City, Singapore, Las Vegas, So Paulo, Sydney, Madrid, Chicago, Berlin, London, and Tokyo, among other cities. The presence of the sculptures will raise awareness of the release of the impending blockbuster among a big number of people from all of these important cities, paving the way for its premiere on June 9. Despite being the seventh film in the series, it is anticipated that it will serve as a relaunch.
Three new character posters for the movie, showing Optimus Prime, Optimus Primal, and Mirage, were also revealed along with the announcement regarding the action figures. The legendary figure will once again be portrayed by Peter Cullen, who has done so since the 1980s animated series that introduced him. As Optimus Primal, the head of the Maximals who can change into a huge mechanical gorilla, Ron Perlman will be joining the franchise. In addition, Pete Davidson is making his Transformers debut by portraying the holographic-projecting Autobot spy Mirage.
On a globe-trotting journey with the Autobots in 1994, a pair of human archaeologists (played by Ramos and Fishback) from Brooklyn become involved in an age-old struggle that involves the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons, three factions of the Transformers race. The Maximals, whose primary focus is the animal kingdom, represent the next stage in Cybertronian evolution. Predacons, their malevolent equivalents, are continuously engaged in conflict with the opposing faction. An independent group of Cybertronians known as the Terrorcons spends their entire lives hunting Maximals and Autobots.
