Sinf-e-Ahan, renowned director Nadeem Baig is back with Kuch Ankahi, an incredible story about the empowerment of women with a touch of comedy and a range of emotions. Sajal Aly, Bilal Abbas Khan, Ira Ghazal, Asma Abbas, Mira Sethi, Qudsia Ali, Ali Safina, and Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui are among the cast members of this Syed Muhammad Ahmed-penned film.

The first episode of the serial debuted on Saturday, and it contained a hint of comedy, a dash of drama, and a teaspoon of spice. The story that the Internet presents is praised by all.

The Kuch Ankahi cast discussed their reasons for agreeing to participate in the production when speaking with Fuchsia. The combination of Nadeem Baig and writer-actor Syed was significant to Sajal Aly.

“Sinf-e-Aahan was my first play with Baig Sahab. He topped the list of directors I wanted to work with. So one day, I told him to take me on one of his projects. That’s how I landed in Sinf-e-Ahan and I never thought I will get another serial with him in the same year. When he asked me, i said ‘duh, why is that even a question?’ Also, it’s written by Mohammed Ahmed. I love him. Meri unse behad muhabbat, ishq, dosti hai. It was a dream come true for me”

Sajal continued by recalling how, before she even sought a career in acting, she was a fan of Muhammad Ahmed. I initially met Ahmed Sahab at a set, she sighed. He saw me there when my mother was working on a project and told me that he was writing Umrao Jaan but that I was too young for it. So it means everything to me to finally be acting in a script he wrote after all these years.

Speaking about the plot of Kuch Ankahi, Sajal said that it is one of those rare drama serials that she has a special connection to.

” We’re talking about women’s empowerment and this project has so many women at the center of the story with their own individual narratives. We’re not just supporting each other in the script but even on the set. All of us, Vaneeza, Mira, Qudsia, we’re all there for each other. The feeling when you actually, genuinely support women is the best feeling and that comes out in its best form in the serial”

The actress only said that her part in the serial is “incredibly special” to her when asked about it.

Speaking on the serial’s genre, Sajal revealed, “I love comedy but this isn’t on-the-face comedy. This is the kind of old-school PTV family drama that you still remember. You’ll cry, you’ll laugh, and you’ll celebrate with us. It’s a lot of emotions together”

The same Mira Sethi was quoted as saying, “I rejected 4-5 projects this year because they were, well, just not great. The feel of this project is Anwar Maqsood meets Haseena Moin meets Syed Muhammad Ahmed. It’s a comedy, its satire, and its light, and yet it has an emotional tenant to it”

“She’s someone with a lot of quiet strength but that’s not visible in the beginning,” according to Mira Sethi, who is portraying Samiya, the oldest sister.
