Bilaal Avaz makes Pakistan debut in Peshawar Zalmi anthem
An American Idol casting director found the 19-year-old Pakistani-American singer Bilaal Avaz on Instagram, and she has since become well-known. Four years later, he is about to accomplish another noteworthy feat as one of the key vocalists of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise’s much awaited anthem in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Both possibilities with American Idol and Zalmi’s song, according to Avaz, who describes himself as a person who simply goes where life leads him, “came out of nowhere.” The casting director contacted him on Instagram, and after he gave an audition, he was chosen to travel to Washington, D.C., where he performed for the judge’s Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan.

His second big chance to perform the Zalmi anthem suddenly presented itself when he was contacted by the franchise’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nausherwan Effandi, via Instagram. This experience gave him more confidence. The song, which the singer believes to be the “best” Zalmi tune to date, was recorded and shot in Karachi, Pakistan. It will be released soon.
Bilaal appreciates that the Peshawar Zalmi franchise gives aspiring artists a chance to succeed. Instead of depending primarily on well-known actors like Ali Zafar or Atif Aslam, he views the franchise as cultural and with the potential to have a significant impact.
He responded that he thinks the Zalmi hymn would be well accepted and loved by fans when asked if it will outperform other anthems.
