Masses revolt against Geo News over blasphemy
The masses revolt against Blasphemy
Religious scholars advise the public to boycott Geo News after the network aired blasphemous content in an attempt to disintegrate Pakistani society. The scholar came on TV and proclaimed that the Geo network aired offensive content against the family of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in a morning TV show.
Mubasher Lucman, the host of the private program, expressed his religious convictions as a Muslim that the Holy Prophet and his family should not be part of any controversies. As a Muslim, we cannot be disrespected to our messenger, he claimed.
While Geo ran their morning show for hours, their apology didn’t even make it to the minute mark. Geo ignored PEMRA laws which prohibit such content to be shared. The entire Muslim population around the globe was shaken by the action of Geo and forgiveness had been thrown out of the question.
Media houses are put into place with the purpose of integrating all the building blocks of society. Geo went against the responsibility bestowed upon it by sharing propaganda against the Holy Prophet, the founding members of our Muslim and Pakistani community. A boycott was placed to Geo and advertisers were strictly advised against the airing of advertisements by Geo.
