Geo News proves to be insensitive after exploiting APS painful tragedy

APS, forever in our prayers

Geo News, defied journalism ethics in every sense when they used inappropriate measures to gain publicity and attention after the Army Public School shooting incident.

Pakistan media exploited this tragedy by embarking on several paths to gain more publicity for their channels. GEO TV hosted its news program the following day in an APS uniform to “honor” the APS child victims. To those watching, especially those suffering from losing their young and loved ones, this was nothing short of horrendous.

Aamir Liaquat resigned as president of GEO Entertainment after witnessing such an atrocity by the channel. He deemed the stunt inappropriate and disgusting for the viewers and victims of the incident.

Liaquat proclaimed that the APS attire was nothing more than a publicity stunt and expresses no sense of solidarity. He brought a valid point in his emotional rant twitter hinting to the fact that they would still post news from India regardless of the fact that India may be behind the whole incident.

This is not solidarity but utter nonsense to seek more attention and to hurt feelings may be un intentionaly but they are doing it
