Disgusting behavior – Khalil-ur-Rehman’s contract suspended after abusing Marvi Sirmed
GEO Entertainment took swift action by canceling screenwriter Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s contract after a major controversy on national television. During a heated discussion about the Aurat March and it’s slogans with activist Marvi Sirmed, Khalil ur Rehman strongly expressed his resentment over the “Mera Jism Meri Marzi” (my body, my choice) slogan, in particular, saying he was disappointed when someone like Marvi Sirmed used it.
This is simply brilliant. Geo has suspended it's contract with Khalilur Rehman Qamar to write 4 dramas and 2 films that was recently signed.
Thank you Geo! Thank you Mr Ibrahim Mir and all the amazing people in Jang Group who advocated for this. You rock https://t.co/2ruTSs29Tv

As Marvi Sirmed responded by repeating the slogan, again and again, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar lost his cool and began verbally abusing Marvi Sirmed, targeting her body and physical appearance.
During this entire incident, the show host, herself a woman, continued to remain firmly on Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s side, asking Marvi Sirmed repeatedly to stay silent and calm down. This irresponsible and biased behavior from the representative of a major media house and broadcaster is a cause of great concern.
Even though GEO Network has issued a clarification with regards to the entire debacle, it must be said that media platforms must understand where to draw the line between healthy discussion and verbal abuse. This issue has led to great debate and activity on social media, with most people criticizing Khalil ur Rehman for his foul behavior and abusive language.
Khalil ur Rehman has refused to issue any form of apology to the media house or the public, assuring his supporters that he will never work with the concerned media house ever again.
