Here is how GEO fuelled “assault on journalism”

Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman has been arrested by NAB in a property fraud that happened in 1986 but, all the noise which was created by GEO and the Jang group voiced concern about the freedom of journalism.

How can Jang group shift the attention from the corruption scandal of their owner to an assault on journalism? Rehman is the Media Firon of Pakistan, who if touched for misconduct, all the wrath of journalists would be unbridled.

It has always been the case that anything different or opposing the narrative of Jang group becomes an assault on journalism. It is an easy accusation to sanitize their biased and bogus journalism. This is a corruption trial of a powerful man, not an assault on journalism.

If Jang group so firmly believes in the due process of law and getting the nuances of Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman trial right then why are they holding the media trial? If the media house did not buy the land 34 years ago then why it is making so much noise about being punished for free journalism? It is merely a corporation and they will go to any lengths to save their face.
