There are many dengue cases reported across Punjab, with a total of 311 dengue patients being treated in all hospitals across the province.

In the last 24 hours, 57 new dengue virus-infected patients were admitted, from which 50 patients were discharged after treatment, sources said.

45 cases were reported in Rawalpindi, 10 in Lahore while two cases were reported in Attock.

According to health department sources, 82 new dengue cases were reported Rawalpindi while five patients were brought from Islamabad to various hospitals in Rawalpindi.

Sources said that 9,375 persons have been tested positive for dengue in the twin cities this year out of which 5,700 patients were from Rawalpindi and 3,675 patients were from Islamabad and other nearby areas.

Sources further informed that the death toll from dengue fever in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has reached 41 this year.

According to the details, toll of dengue-affected patients has risen up to 162 this year.

The dengue affectees in the country are increasing rapidly day-by day, sources said.

According to latest reports, more than 150 people suffers from dengue fever and the dengue affectees toll has risen to 7,886 in the last 24 hours.

Health officials estimate that at least 25,000 people in the twin cities have tested positive for the dengue virus recently.

In the two big hospitals of Islamabad alone, some 8,000 dengue cases have been identified.

Health departments has confirmed at least 35 deaths from the dengue virus in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
