The number of people affected by dengue is increasing in different cities of the country, with new cases of dengue been registered in Islamabad.

Dengue virus has been confirmed in 31 patients in the past 24 hours admitted in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), details said.

There are 35 patients undergoing treatment at the Dengue ward of PIMS while in Poly Clinic seven are under treatment.

According to hospital administration, so far 6,000 dengue-affected patients and over 8,000 patients were treated in PIMS.

More than 13,700 dengue patients have been reported in Punjab so far.

Earlier, the number of dengue cases is on the increase in Multan as 6 new patients have been reported at Multan’s Nishtar Hospital.

According to the details, 12 patients were already under-treatment in isolation ward of the hospital.

Patients belong to different districts of northern Punjab, Hospital administration told media.

The dengue pandemic has raised serious health concerns across the country with thousands affected.

More than 150 citizens are suffering from dengue every day in Sindh, reports said.

According to the details, Anti-Dengue Cell has formed Response Committees in several districts of Sindh. The committees will also provide mosquito bites curing.

In Sindh this month, more than 3,600 urban dengue victims were reported from across the province.

This year, the number of dengue victims across the province has exceeded 6,800.

As many as 6,446 citizens have been affected this year from Karachi while more than 400 from other districts of Sindh have been affected.

The Health Department of Sindh says that 20 people have died of dengue this year. Last year, 2,088 people were affected by dengue out of which two died.

In addition, there were 2,927 dengue cases reported in 2017, of which 12 died.
