No need to go abroad! Pakistanis are now blessed with their liver transplantation hospital. Dr. Rahim Bux Bhatti, Director Pir Abdul Qadir Shah Jilani Institute of Medical Sciences (PAQSJIMS) Gambat has confirmed that over 100 liver transplants have been carried out successfully in the institute.
According to details, German and international professionals used to come to perform surgeries and transplants. Dr. Rahim Bux Bhatti,” This is for the first time that 100 complicated procedures of liver transplant have been successfully carried out in public-sector health facility for Pakistan.”
According to Rahim Bux Bhatti, the liver transplant department was introduced in January 2016 and the same year, the first transplant was carried out.
The liver transplant requires a huge amount and time to travel bear expenditures. However, this institute saves a lot of money, energy, and power, as the entire procedure here is performed free of cost. PAQSJIMS does liver transplant with zero expenditures; Sindh Chief Justice Murad Ali Shah provides aid to the institute.
According to PAQSJIMS, the hospital is equipped with modern machinery, which is a rare thing in Asia.
Other surgeries and treatments are also done at PAQJIMS such as corneal transplants, heart-related procedures, and other organ transplants.
