The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 271,490 while the death toll is 5,778. However, out of these cases, 219,783 people have been cured which is more than 81%.
As of today’s evening (July 24), 1478 new cases of coronavirus and 22 deaths have been reported in the country while 6,608 people have been cured.
The reduction in coronavirus cases in Pakistan is a ray of hope, but Planning Minister Asad Umar has warned that if people do not strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during Eid-ul-Adha and Muharram, An increase can be seen.
It may be recalled that earlier coronavirus cases had reached a peak in the country in the month of June but the situation improved in the month of July.
It should be noted that the first case of coronavirus in the country came to light on February 26, 2020, after which by the end of March, the total number of cases was close to 2,000 while the death toll had reached 26.
After that, in April, the number of cases had increased to more than 16,000 while the death toll had reached 385. However, in the month of May, the number of cases increased to 71,000 and the number of deaths exceeded 1,500.
The number of cases increased significantly in June, with the total number rising to 212,000 and the death toll to 4,300 in one month.
In the last 23 days of this month, July, about 58,000 cases and up to 1,400 deaths have been reported in the country.

Sindh
A further 917 cases and 14 deaths of coronavirus were reported in Sindh, after which Sindh became the most affected province in terms of deaths and cases.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that with the addition of 917 more coronavirus patients in the province, the number has increased to 116,800.
In addition, 14 more deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths in the province to 2,110.
Punjab
In Punjab, the country’s most populous province, the corona virus-infected another 294 people and killed five.
According to the portal for official statistics, the total number of cases after these new cases reached 91,423.
In addition, the death toll in the province rose to 2,105 with five deaths.
Balochistan
After the complete recovery of 233 patients infected with the virus in Balochistan, the total number of recoveries from Corona in the province has reached 9818 so far.
Only 6 coronavirus cases have been reported in the province in 24 hours, while 9818 out of 11523 corona patients have recovered.
Islamabad
The coronavirus has infected 44 more people in the federal capital Islamabad.
According to official figures, the total number in the capital rose to 14,766 after 44 new cases.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department confirmed 173 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the number of affected people in the province to 33,071.
There was only one death due to the virus in the province on Friday, bringing the total death toll to 1,170.

Azad Kashmir
In Azad Kashmir, which is one of the least affected areas, the total number of cases increased by 28 while another died.
Thus, the total number of cases increased by 28 to 1,989 while the number of deaths rose to 49 with one more death.
Gilgit-Baltistan
In Gilgit-Baltistan, the least affected area in Pakistan, the global epidemic affected 22 more people and killed one.
According to official figures, the total number of cases affected by these 22 people has risen to 1,918.
In addition, the death of one person brings the total death toll in Gilgit-Baltistan to 46.
In addition, the number of healthy people in the country is growing rapidly and in the last 24 hours, there were another 6,608 people who recovered from the virus.
After the recovery of this large number of people, 219,783 people in the country have recovered so far, which is more than 81% of the total patients.
