Punjab Govt. to update masses on reopening of schools within next 24 hours

The Health Ministry has issued the list of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be implemented after the reopening of schools on September 15.

According to the details,  Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood on Monday chaired a meeting of Pakistan’s provincial education ministers regarding the reopening of schools.

During the meeting shortening the course due to the short duration of the academic year is also considered.

However, according to the SOPs issued by the health ministry; Educational activities in the school will be in 2 shifts

The duration of the shift of educational activities in the school will be a maximum of 4 hours.

Shifts should also be scheduled on Saturdays to avoid the crowd in schools.

To complete the academic session, it was decided to end the winter holidays in educational institutions.

Assemblies will not be allowed in educational institutions.

Students must maintain a social distance between educational institutions and vans.

Masks will be mandatory for students, including teaching and non-teaching staff, in educational institutions.

Masks will be exempted for students up to one year of age and for those who have difficulty breathing.

Schools and vans to pick and drop students must be disinfected on a daily basis.

The doors and windows of classrooms in educational institutions will be opened for ventilation.

Seating arrangements for students in the classrooms will be subject to social distance.

Only one student will be allowed to sit at a desk.

Parents are advised to keep hand sanitizers and water bottles in their children’s school bags.

The cafeteria and canteen in educational institutions will make more use of disposable foodservice items.

Each educational institution will have a focal person for coronavirus.

In the case of coronavirus case in educational institutions, the school administration will contact the district health officer.

The duration of the library will be reduced in educational institutions while gloves, masks, and hand sanitizers will be mandatory in the library.
