Greying of hair

It’s stressful enough to see your hair turning white at an early age. Stress might play a key role in turning natural black hair to white.

But, in most cases, it’s simple genetics. “Gray hair caused by loss of melanocytes (pigment cells) in the hair follicle.

This happens as we age and, unfortunately, there is no treatment that can restore these cells and the pigment they produce, melanin,” according to a dermatologist.

“Genetic factors determine when you go grey. There is nothing that can be done medically to prevent this from happening when it is genetically predetermined to happen.”

That doesn’t mean environmental factors — such as stress — don’t play a role.

Smoking, for instance, is a known risk factor for premature graying.

However, here we have three natural remedies to help you prevent the premature greying of hair.

1. Curry Leaves

It strengthens hair roots and provide vitality to your hair.

What to do:

Boil the leaves in a tablespoon of coconut oil until charred. Strain and massage into hair. Leave it on for 30-45 minutes before rinsing it out. Follow this treatment atleast twice a week.

2. Black Sesame Seeds

What to do:

Eat 1 tablespoon raw black sesame seeds daily with water on an empty stomach.

3. Rosemary and Sage

Both herbs cover greys by darkening hair colour.
