Many countries around the world have concerns about the side effects of the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, but on Wednesday Denmark became the first country to abandon its use altogether.

In a statement, health officials in Denmark said the decision would stop the supply of 2.4 million AstraZeneca vaccines in the country.

The decision is expected to have a negative impact on the ongoing vaccination campaign in Denmark and lead to a few weeks of disruption in vaccine supplies.

But Danish officials say it was a difficult decision and that they currently have vaccines from other companies and that the pandemic is under control in the country.

According to experts, severe side effects of blood clots in the brain have been reported after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine in different countries.

The European Medicines Agency, Europe’s drug quality watchdog, said last week that in some patients, blood clotting may be linked to the vaccine after vaccination. However, the agency also said that corona is more likely to die from not being vaccinated.

Many countries in Europe have already suspended the campaign to vaccinate against AstraZeneca.

Authorities in Denmark say there have been more cases of blood clotting in patients than expected, prompting them to make the decision.

About one million people in Denmark have been vaccinated against coronavirus, including 1.5 million vaccines against the AstraZeneca vaccine.
