Hollywood star Keanu Reeves has promised a 15-minute virtual date exchange to raise money for an Idaho-based children’s cancer charity.
For many years, The John Wick actor has been quietly donating his time and money to different cancer charities in honor of his sister, who had leukemia.
According to details, Reeves has promised to have a 15-minute Zoom call/virtual date with the highest bidder in a nearly 50-lot auction for Camp Rainbow Gold.
It is said that the actor will answer questions and there is a possibility that reeves will also share a virtual glass of wine during the call with the high bidder. He will try to make the date as realistic as possible.
The organization’s mission
The organization’s mission is to “provide emotionally empowering experiences to Idaho”s children diagnosed with cancer and their families“.
As Keanu became part of the auction, there are higher chances that this will boost the fundraising efforts following a postponed event due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Camp Rainbow Gold executive director Elizabeth Lizberg said,
“We quickly realized we wouldn’t be the only ones moving our fundraiser to an online auction. We also realized after months at home, people are craving connections and experiences that are safe but fulfilling.”
Other than Reeves, Fifth Harmony Member Ally Brooke will also have a 15-minute zoom virtual concert and one the Hollywood’s voice actor Rob Paulsen will mimic some of his iconic characters.
The campaign opened on June 15 and will end in a week, which is June 22.
