Over the call of Prime Minister Imran Khan, rallies have been taken out in Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah and Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh, to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
Purpose of the day was to express solidarity with Kashmiris, condemn India’s “fascist oppression” in the disputed territory and ensure Pakistan’s cooperation with Kashmir.
Pakistan ambassador in Saudi Arabia Raja Ali Aijaz, officers of consulate and Pakistani community participated in the rally which was taken out at Jeddah Consulate.
National anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir were played. Participants, who were holding Pakistani and Kashmiri flags, expressed solidarity with Kashmiris.
Pakistan’s envoy to Saudi Arabia Raja Ali Aijaz, while addressing to the rally, stated that we stand united against Indian oppression in the valley and Pakistan will continue to fight for their freedom.
We will not be silenced until Kashmiris are given their lawful and humanitarian rights, he added.
Kashmir Hour was observed to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people after New Delhi revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir valley and imposing a lockdown which entered its 26th consecutive day on Friday.
As per details, the main event of the Kashmir Hour organized on Islamabad’s Constitution Avenue where the PM Khan arrived accompanied by members of parliament.
Federal ministers and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders will also gather at D-Chowk and Prime Minister addressed students at the lawn of Parliament House.
Sirens boomed at noon and traffic signals was turned red on all roadways of the federal capital. The National Anthem sung along with the anthem of Kashmir.
Government employees had left their offices at noon to participate in Kashmir Hour on the streets.
On the directives of the PM Imran Khan, Protests have been organized at designated locations in all districts of the country and elected representatives will lead the demonstrations in their respective constituencies.
