Iraq stampede kills 31 at Ashura rituals in Karbala

At least 31 people were killed and more than 100 wounded in a stampede in Karabala, the city of Iraq, as Shia Muslim worshipers commemorated Ashura on Tuesday.

According to details, The stampede reportedly killed 31, whereas, left several injured.

The incident took place after the march of the procession collapsed at a certain point, causing mayhem, according to Iraqi Government.

70 were reportedly wounded in the tragic incident which took place during commemorations for the Shia holy day of Ashura in the Iraqi city of Karbala, officials say.

Foreign Office stated that, no casualty of any Pakistani has been reported and Pakistan Foreign Office’s camp in Karbala is closely monitoring the situation.

Representative of Pakistan Foreign Office’s camp in Karbala stated that Pakistan condemns the tragic incident and offers prayers to those who are wounded.
