Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has thrown the letter of US President Donald Trump in the trash.
According to a report by the British Broadcasting Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threw the letter of the US President which he sent to Turkey to stop military action in Syria in a ‘garbage bin’.
According to the report, the letter is dated October 9 and sent after the withdrawal of US forces from Syria.
In this letter, US President Donald Trump addressed President Erdogan and said, “Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool!”
Trump also gave a direct threat to Turkey by saying that he will destroy the Turkish economy if Erdogan did not halt the invasion. “I don’t want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy and I will,” he said.
The letter was completely rejected by Turkish President Erdogan.
On the very next day, the letter was received, Turkey launched full fledge operation against the Kurds across the border.
It should be noted that Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced on October 9, 2019 to launch Turkey’s military operation came after the US President Trump’s announcement that America was withdrawing its troops from the region, leaving the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), its main ally in the battle against the Islamic State (ISIS) of Iraq and the Levant armed militant group, without US military support.
Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the objective of military operation is to remove the Kurdish-led forces from the border area and create a “safe zone” so millions of Syrian refugees can be returned safely.
