Twenty one people have been injured in a horrific bus accident that took place in United Arab Emirates.

According to international news agency, accident took place on Emirates Road on Wednesday night near the border between Dubai and Sharjah.

The bus was carrying workers to their accommodation in the direction of the Sharjah industrial area.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Abdullah Alay, director of Traffic and Patrol Department at Sharjah Police said that Sixteen of the workers were discharged on the same day, while four are still receiving treatment. One of the workers, a 33 year old Pakistani, is in the ICU due to the serious nature of his injuries.

Over the last weekend, four people were killed in two separate road accidents in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.

In the first accident, two deaths occurred in Al Badayer area of Sharjah when the driver of a quad bike lost control and the vehicle turned over several times.

In the second accident, two young Emirati brothers were killed after their car veered off the Shaikh Mohammad bin Zayed Road and rolled over. Their mother, sister and aunt sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the hospital.

The two brothers, aged 21 and 11, died on the spot.
