On the occasion of World Human Rights Day, the head of the Saudi Human Rights Commission, Awad al-Awad, has said that the Saudi state has made 60 terms for human rights improvement.
President of Human Rights Commission (HRC) Awwad Bin Saleh Al Awwad said that under King Salman Bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, the Kingdom has witnessed reforms across a multitude of spheres progressing in ways that seemed unimaginable before.
More than 60 reforms have been made to improve the situation of human rights in the Kingdom, of which 22 were related to women’s rights. We have adopted new regulation in personal status for women with reformed custody and anti-harassment laws, he also said.
President HRC Al Awwad said, Since Saudi culture is deeply rooted in social cohesion and is consensus-based, change may have to unfold at a pace comfortable for Saudi society.
We also take pride in our values and traditions that carry us into the future with our culture intact. We have come a long way and will continue to do more, he added
22 out of 60 Human Rights decisions were about Women: Saudi Arabia
President of Human Rights Commission (HRC) also tweeted that world celebrates the World Day of Human Rights under the slogan of youth and human rights with messages that urge their empowerment and their participation in development and the importance of their role in a positive change.
He also said that ‘Kingdom 2030’ vision is also formulated by His Highness the Crown Prince to empower youth and women through ambitious programs.

President of the Human Rights Commission, Awwad Bin Saleh Al Awwad addressed to the event last month and praised King Salman for taking the historical decisions against women violation.
