At least 13 people died due to typhoon Phanfone in the Philippines.

Typhoon phanfone has caused several destruction through the center of the country, killing 13 people.

The storm had attacked several islands with breezes of 190km/h. the storm has ultimately devastated homes and power lines.

Many people are missing as they got stuck when they were heading towards their homes for Christmas.

Typhoon phanfone started making the first landfall on Tuesday night. However, it continues to destroy islands situated in the central Philippines thought the Christmas day.

More than 58,000 were evacuated due to storms. Apart from that, around 15,000 people were stuck at ports as the ferries services were suspended.

Most of the deaths took place in Iloilo and Capiz province.

According to the local news agency, one family tried to reach the higher ground when they were swept away by the flood and was killed.

Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross Richard Gordon had said, “A lot of people have lost their homes and they need food.”

He has also informed that water and power services have also been suspended in several areas.

Phanfone made its way towards South China City on Thursday.

Philippines Phanfone has hit near to the regions hit by Typhoon Haiyan.

Typhoon Haiyan was said to be the most powerful storm that caused landfall in 2013.

That was the deadliest typhoon that happened as it killed over 6,000 people.
