airstrike in iraq

Another airstrike was carried out in Iraq which killed 6 people, the local news reported. The attack had happened a day after Soleimani’s murder.

No statement was released from Washington regarding the incident.

According to an international news agency, six people were killed in the airstrike. The attack hit the militia group in the early Saturday morning.

The US President Donald Trump said that Qasem Suleimani was killed to stop the war.

The US President explained the assassination of Iran’s top Commander Qasem Soleimani that the aim was “to stop the war, not to start one.”

Soleimani’s “reign of terror is over”, he said.

Soleimani had spearheaded the Middle East operations in Iran as the head of Quds Force has vowed: “severe revenge” on those who caused the death.

The assassination of Qasem Soleimani has created serious tensions between Iran and the US.

3,000 additional troops will be deployed in the Middle East, according to US officials.

Donald Trump, while talking to a press conference, said on the Qasem’s killing, “The United States military executed a flawless precision strike that killed the number one terrorist anywhere in the world Qasem Soleimani.”

“Soleimani was plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and military personnel but we caught him in the act and terminated him.”

However, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has said on the killing, “His departure to God does not end the path of his mission, but forceful revenge awaits the criminals who have his blood and the blood of the other martyrs last night on their hands.”

Iranian ambassador Majid Takht Tavanchi had sent a letter to the UN Security Council that Tehran has the authority to retaliate in self-defense under international law.”
