Conditions from intense Gloria weather in Spain have caused 3 deaths.

A man was hit by another man due to heavy snowfall. Also, another person was killed as he fell down due to strong winds. Similar situations caused third death as well, according to the local council.

Heavy snowfall, intense rain showers and strong winds due to Gloria weather have worsened the situation in Spain and have disturbed the lifestyle.

Over nine provinces are on red alert today and areas including Valencia region, Balearics Teruel, Murcia, Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona, Valencia, Alicante, and Castellon.

Freeways have been cut off, ports have been shut down and about 20,000 homes are deprived of electricity in the Alicante province.

Apart from that, at least 120 municipalities have closed classes in Valencia as severe condition prevails.

One section of A-7 freeway has also shut down and train schedules are delayed as well.

Rainfall has created adverse problems in Vernissa, Serpis and Gorgos rivers, whereas municipalities have been shut down in areas including La Font de Figuera and Mpixent in Valencia.

A chemical explosion in Spain

At least a person had died and eight-person were injured due to an explosion in a chemical plant in Spain’s autonomous Catalonia region.

One person was missing after the incident, according to the sources.

The blast had taken place at Químicas Del Óxido de Etileno plant at 18:40 local time in La Canonja municipality.

Officials report that the incident had occurred due to a chemical accident.

Several firefighters had reached the spot and have handled the situation late into the night.

The nearby building was collapsed and the dead person was found there.
