Two rockets crashed into Baghdad’s Green Zone, the high-security enclave where foreign embassies including the US mission are based.

Two Katyusha rockets fall inside the Green Zone without causing casualties, sources told.

Two loud blasts heard followed by the wailing security sirens of the Green Zone.

The rockets were fired several hours after President Donald Trump declared that Iran appeared to be standing down from the military conflict with the US.

The attack came nearly 24 hours after Iran launched ballistic missiles at Iraqi bases housing American and other coalition forces.

The strikes were in retaliation for a US drone strike that killed top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and other commanders last week.

Yesterday, Iran had launched ballistic missiles attack on US forces in Iraq in the early hours.

Iran launched 15 ballistic missiles in retaliation for the US drone strike on an Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.

However, his killing has raised fears of a wider war in the Middle East.

Afterwards, at least eighty Americans reportedly killed during Iran missile attacks on US targets at Iraqi military bases.

According to Iranian state television, none of Iran’s missiles that attacked US targets intercepted.

Iran launched 15 missiles against US troops at two Iraqi military bases, Iranian state TV said.

Iranian state television, citing an informed source, said that Iran has 100 other targets in its sights if US takes any retaliatory measures.

According to Iranian army, US must withdraw its troops from the Middle East.

Later on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said that no Americans or Iraqis harmed in Iran’s Tuesday ballistic missile strike.

In his address Trump announced that the U.S. will  place new sanctions on Iran “until it changes it’s behaviour.”
