Trump will never start war in an election year, Hassan Rouhani

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the US President will never try to start a war with Iran during an election year.

Hassan Rouhani said in a press conference on Sunday that Trump knows war between Iran and the US will minimize his chances of re-election in November.

He said, “I think the Americans aren’t after the war since they know what harm it could do them,”

Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that Iran would not talk to the United States under pressure. But he invited the US to join the nuclear deal again. He also said that it will be Iran that will force the US for the negotiations.

He said, “Iran will never negotiate under pressure. … We will never yield to America’s pressure and we will not negotiate from a position of weakness,”

He added that Tehran’s part was significant for the security of the region.

“Securing peace and stability in the sensitive region of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf is impossible without Iran’s help,”
