Former European Council president Donald Turk said that Brussels feels sympathy for independent Scotland becoming a part of the European Union.
Nicola Sturgeon said that a sovereign Scotland will look for full EU membership.
Donald Turk was asked if the matter will be seen as a good approach. He replied, “emotionally I have no doubt that everyone will be enthusiastic”.

However, Donald Turk said that any future entry bid on part of a sovereign Scotland would be automatically rejected.
On the other hand, Boris Johnson will announce that he will reject alignment with EU rules when Britain discusses a trade agreement with Brussels.
