ANKARA: Turkey has urged Russia to immediately stop the Syrian government’s attacks in the region of Idlib.

According to the sources, Talking to reporters in Baku on Thursday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Russia is guarantor country for the Syrian regime, and Turkey expects it to stop Syrian government’s attacks in Idlib.

He said a Russian delegation is expected to visit Turkey in the wake of a Syrian regime attack on Turkish troops in Idlib.

Meanwhile, Russia’s foreign ministry said today that Moscow would continue to coordinate with Ankara and Tehran.

Turkey: Avalanche kills twenty-three rescue workers

Earlier on February 5, mAn avalanche in eastern Turkey killed at least 23 people, including civilians and military police who were working to rescue victims of an earlier snowslide on Wednesday.

According to the sources of Anadolu Agency, Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said 30 people were rescued and taken to hospital.

Mehmet Emin Bilmez, governor of the eastern Van province, said the deceased include civilians, gendarmes, village guards and fire fighters.

Bilmez noted that the condition of nine of the rescued people was critical, while there was still no information on how many people are buried under the avalanche.
