Coronavirus: Kashmiris deprived of all basic health facilities in IoK, Mushaal Mullick

Mushaal Mullick, a wife of hurriyat leader Yasin Malik said that Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) is undergoing a major health crisis amid the growing Coronavirus cases in the region and the Kashmiris have been deprived of all basic health facilities due to the continued lockdown in the area.

The occupied valley has till now reported eight known cases of the coronavirus so far. Three cases have been reported in Jammu.

On March 26, Indian Occupied Kashmir has reported its first death due to the deadly coronavirus. Media reports said  the victim was a 65-year-old man.

“As we share the sad news of our first #Covid19 fatality, my heart goes out to the family of the deceased. We stand with you and share your grief,” Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu tweeted.

Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal said, “This is sad news. This is first death due to Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir.” He said four others who were in contact with him have also tested for the deadly virus.

As of now, eight persons have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Kashmir Valley while the tally of such patients in the entire occupied territory has gone up to 11.
