The death toll in Spain surpasses the death toll in China. Spain reported 738 new deaths due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. 

Chian has comparatively reported 3,285 deaths. Whereas, Italy has reported 6,820 deaths due to Covid-19.

Around 27,000 people are given treatment in a hospital in Spain.

Madrid is the worst affected region.

Spain’s Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Calvo has also diagnosed positive. She was taken to the hospital on Sunday.

On the other hand, the number of cases of Covid-19 in the US jumps to 68,489 whereas the death toll reaches to 1,032.

International sources mentioned 600 new deaths around 24 hours earlier.

The US has the third-highest number of coronavirus cases after China and Italy. Based on the reported cases, the death rate is now 1.38 percent.

More than 200 deaths were reported from the US on Wednesday.

According to CNN data, The dramatic spike brought the number of novel coronavirus deaths since the outbreak reached the United States in late January to at least 928. Sunday morning — less than four days ago — the nationwide total was 326 deaths

A projection was shared with Congress earlier this month which stated that around 70 to 150 million people could eventually contract coronavirus.

International news 700,000 to 1.5 million deaths can occur if the real mortality rate is one percent.

Leaders of the nine EU countries invited the 27-member bloc to collect funds through a “common debt instrument to handle the pandemic.

In other developments:

§ Italy has seen another 683 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the number to 7,503 since the outbreak began. That is slightly lower than Tuesday’s number and the rate of increase in new cases has now fallen for four days in a row. The government has increased punishments for breaking virus control measures, including fines of thousands of euros and five-year prison terms for anyone who tests positive and breaks their quarantine.

France has seen another 231 deaths in 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,331. Health agency chief Jérôme Salomon said there had been a 12% rise in the number of people requiring life support and that “the epidemic is rapidly worsening in France”. President Emmanuel Macron visited a military hospital late on Wednesday and praised the commitment and sacrifice of the medical profession.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has postponed a vote on constitutional change that would allow him to stay in power, because of coronavirus concerns. The public vote had been due to be held on 22 April. The official number of people infected in Russia rose to 658 on Wednesday – the largest one-day increase in cases so far
