The United States has reported the third highest number of coronavirus, following China and Italy.
Coronavirus outbreak in the US is likely to get worse in the future after it reported third highest number of cases.
New York’s mayor Bill de Blasio said that a shortage of essential medical supplies will worsen the damage.
Bill de Blasio said, “We’re about 10 days away from seeing widespread shortages,”
“If we don’t get more ventilators people will die.”
He added, “All Americans deserve the blunt truth,”
“It’s only getting worse, and in fact, April and May are going to be a lot worse.”
New York has been considered the epicenter of the virus in the US.
Over 390 people have died and 31,057 cases are confirmed in the US.
New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo informed that 15,168 people had contracted the virus as 4,000 more cases increased from the previous day.
President Donald Trump had approved a major disaster declaration for the state which gave it access to billions of dollars of federal air. But Bill de Blasio criticized the administration for what he claims as an inadequate response.
“I cannot be blunt enough: if the president doesn’t act, people will die who could have lived otherwise,” “This is going to be the greatest crisis, domestically, since the Great Depression,”
Doctors across New York have reported depleted medical supplies and a lack of protective gear for healthcare workers on the frontlines of the outbreak.
