Eight Indian soldiers have been killed in the exchange of fire with the unidentified gunmen in  Kupwara district of  Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Kashmir Media service, eight Indian soldiers including a Junior Commission Officer (JCO) were killed during the military operation in Kupwara district of Indian occupied Kashmir.

Indian Defense Ministry Spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia confirmed the causalities and injuries in a statement in Srinagar.

Indian army’s 8 JAT had launched the operation in Kupwara on Wednesday.

Meanwhile the cordon and search operations continued along Awaoora, Kumkadi, Zurhuma, Safawali, Batpora and Haihama areas of the district by the joint team of Indian Army’s 41 Rashtriya Rifles, 57 Rashtriya Rifles, 160 TA and Special Operation Group Kupwara. KMS-1K.

Earlier on April 5 Indian police killed 5 more Kashmiri youth in their recent act of terrorism.

A total of 9 youngsters have died in the last 24 hours.

Kashmiri media reported that the killings took place in Keran area of Kupwara district during continued operation. Sources said that an Indian soldier was also killed and another soldier was wounded during the operation.
