Bangladesh police has arrested the elusive killer of Sheikh Mujib Rehman, former military captain Abdul Majed, after 45 years of assassination.

According to the details, a trial court had sentenced him and five others who were involved in brutal killing of sheikh Mujib and his family, to death in 1998 but Abdul Majed escaped to India.

Abdul Majid returned to Bangladesh a few days ago and was caught on the informant.

Bangladeshi Minister for Law, Justice says preparations for the execution of fugitive Captain Abdul Majeed have been commenced.

Bangladesh’s Minister of Justice also says that the fugitive Captain can appeal for mercy from Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid.

Since President Abdul Hamid of Bangladesh is close to the deceased Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina Wajid, it is expected that mercy appeal will be rejected and the death sentence will be implemented soon.

It should be noted that Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, father of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid and his family was killed during a military coup on August 15, 1975.

Haseena Wajid and her sister Sheikh Rihana were safe from the assassination attack while they were in Europe at the time.
