The novel coronavirus has infected 658 more people in Russia, bringing the total to 5,389 over the last one day, the country’s authorities said on Sunday (April 5).

According to the statement of emergency team, The death toll rose to 45 as the infection claimed two more lives since yesterday.

The sources said that the majority of the patients are under the e of age of 45 years.

The US has the maximum death toll which is 9,444 while 330,379 people have been infected by coronavirus.

Earlier on March 19, Russia reported 52 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, bringing the total number of infections to 199. 8 of them have recovered but there are still 190 coronavirus cases.

According to the sources of Aljazeera, Russia said on Thursday a 79-year-old woman with underlying health issues who tested positive for the new coronavirus had died from pneumonia, the country’s first confirmed death resulting from the virus.
