5 Coronavirus patients died due to fire at a hospital in Russia

Five coronavirus patients-who were on ventilators, died due to a fire at St. George Hospital in St. Petersburg on Tuesday. Russian emergency officials have reported the incident on Tass’s new agency.

Sources said that another 150 people were evacuated from the hospital as fire broke out on the sixth floor of the Saint George Hospital.
The hospital was had been opened again to cure coronavirus patients.

The fire incident took place at an intensive care unit. It was controlled within an hour. a criminal investigation has been launched by the police. Sources said that fire might have emerged due to a faulty ventilator.

Svetlana Stepanova, a pensioner getting treatment at the hospital, said, “Everyone is shocked by what happened,”

“A fire in the hospital is a nightmare,”

Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov informed the sources that the fire has broken out due to a short circuit. He said, “A ventilator has caught fire,”

Russia has 232,243 confirmed cases of coronavirus. Out of these, 2,116 people have died whereas 43,512 have recovered. There are now 186,615 active cases of coronavirus.

US accuses China & Russia for coordination on coronavirus conspiracies

China and Russia have been accused by the US of developing cooperation in spreading false narratives about coronavirus pandemic.

Lea Gabrielle, the coordinator of the State Department’s Global Engagement Center, which tracks foreign propaganda, said, “Even before the Covid-19 crisis we assessed a certain level of coordination between Russia and the PRC (Peoples Republic of China) in the realm of propaganda,”

She added, “But with this pandemic, the cooperation has accelerated rapidly,”
