According to Chinese state media, North Korean leader has congratulated Xi Jinping on controlling coronavirus in China.
Note that North Korea has not reported a single case of coronavirus. However, analysts have questioned if that is possible.
It was the first country to stop tourism in the country. It has also closed its borders in January since the outbreak began.
Experts say that North Korea has a fragile health system, and it can be adversely affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has given a “verbal message of thanks” and he also praised Kim’s support during the outbreak in China. He also said that Mr. Kim has “showed his personal attention to the situation of the pandemic and people’s health” in North Korea.
He has also called for more support to deal with the coronavirus pandemic, and said China was “willing to continue to provide assistance within its own capacity for [North Korea] in the fight against Covid-19”.
According to North Korean state media, Mr. Kim had sent a verbal message to the president that “congratulated him, highly appreciating that he is seizing a chance of victory in the war against the unprecedented epidemic”.
