Four people have been arrested in Uganda on charges of killing a Gorilla.
According to the details, wildlife department officials of Uganda said that the 25-year-old Gorilla was kept in a local park for tourists but it disappeared from the park on June 1 and its body was found the next day.
Authorities say a man was arrested and pork, rope, strings and a spear were recovered from his possession, while the man confessed to killing the Gorilla to protect himself from its attack.
Authorities said the detainee said in a statement that he and his friends were hunting when a Gorilla attacked them and killed it in self-defence.
Authorities say three more people were arrested following the detainee’s statement, and an autopsy revealed that the Gorilla was seriously wounded and killed with a sharp instrument.
Earlier in Kenya, rare and unique white skin giraffe and her calf have been killed by poachers in north-eastern Kenya.
After the news surfaces, anger erupted on social media. one user wrote “That’s serious. You’ve failed me. You let such important giraffes out of sight for that long, without security. I remember when I was growing up there was the elephant, Ahmed. It was under 24 hrs security. Am sad.”
