President Donald Trump has warned people to send forces to control the ongoing unrest that resulted after the death of a black man George Floyd.

He said that army would be deployed and “quickly solve the problem for them” if the cities and states failed to overcome the protests and “defend their residents”.

Protests have been organized for a week in the US over George Floyd’s assassination. Four police have been shot and wounded in Missouri. Two people have also been killed.

Donald Trump briefly addressed from the White House Rose Garden. He said, “all Americans were rightly sickened and revolted by the brutal death of George Floyd”. But he also said his memory must not be “drowned out by an angry mob”.

He also said about looting and violence in Washington as “a total disgrace”. He said, “I’m dispatching thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel and law enforcement officers to stop the rioting, looting, vandalism, assaults and the wanton destruction of property,”

He urged the cities and states to send the National Guard, the reserve force that can be called for emergencies “in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets”. Around 16,000 of forces have been deployed.

“If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary… then I’ll deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them.”

“I want the organizers of this terror to be on notice that you’ll face severe criminal penalties,”
