#JusticeforRobertFuller: Black man found hanging from tree, seeks ‘truth’

A young black man committed suicide after hanging from a tree stirring anger among community members who said authorities were too quick to draw conclusions about what could have been a hate crime, confirms California police.

The reaction to the death of 24-year-old Robert Fuller showed how high tensions around race and inequality is on peak in the United States after George Floyd died in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) was still investigating the death of Fuller around 30 miles north of Los Angeles, on Wednesday.

On social media, the hashtag #JusticeforRobertFuller trended on Twitter with users calling for a full investigation of what some speculated was a cover-up of a lynching.

American black man, George Floyd was killed brutally in Minneapolis when a white officer kneeled on his neck for an extended period of time.

His death was captured in a video and sparked global outrage in the Black Lives Matter movement. The world’s top celebrities also raised their voices and demanded justice against this inhuman act.

Anti-racism campaigners began demonstrations since Floyd’s death and the protests intensified from the United States to United Kingdom and many parts of the world.

Thousands of people had gathered to join anti-racism protests across the UK, despite officials advised not to gather due to coronavirus.

On the other hand, thousands of people gathered against in the United States to protest against George Floyd’s assassination. Tens of thousands of people marched in Washington DC, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Security forces blocked ways that lead towards the White House. 

People had also paid homage to George Floyd in North Carolina where he was born, before a memorial service.
