Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined anti-racism protest. He kneeled down three times to protest against George Floyd’s murder.

He was seen kneeling down during a Black Lives Matter protest in Ottawa, hours after he refused to tell if he is joining the protest. He then joined the protest at Parliament Hill wearing a black mask.

Justin Trudeau appears to be the first world leader to kneel down during such protests.

He praised the speakers and also said, “amen” as one of the speakers talked about justice and love.

`No Peace Until Justice` had arranged the protest. The protestors observed complete silence for 9 minutes, at the same time Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin had pushed Floyd to the ground through his knee.

According to the international news source, the Ottawa Police Service stated, “We respect the rights of our residents and community members to speak out when they see injustices and we understand the community`s deep pain and frustration. Our role is to provide a safe space for people to grieve and be heard.”

Justin Trudeau said on Friday before the protest, “far too many Canadians feel fear and anxiety at the sight of a law enforcement officer.”

“Over the past weeks, we’ve seen a large number of Canadians suddenly awaken to the fact that discrimination is a lived reality for far too many of our fellow citizens,”

He said that police discrimination “needs to end”.
