A young PUBG gamer allegedly committed suicide at his home in Indian state Maharashtra and the game is being touted as the reason behind the extreme act.

According to police officials, Nikhil Purushottam Pilewan aged 22 was found hanging in his home in Pimpri Mukhtyar village.

Nikhil worked in a private firm in Pune and had come down to attempt his final year BA exams for graduation, police officials told.

“He was stranded due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown at home and ended up playing PUBG for upto 16 hours daily,” his family members told.

Nikhil is said to have committed suicide when his parents and brother had gone to their farm.

His elder brother has claimed that Nikhil ended his life due to PUBG addiction but as yet, nothing could be said on the matter.

Earlier, A 21-year-old committed suicide in India’s Uttar Pradesh state due to the popular game PUBG.

According to reports, a 21-year-old man named Shivam, hanged himself while playing PUBG.

Family members of the deceased claimed that he used to play the game for hours on his smartphone.

They claimed that he was playing PUBG in his room so they never knew when he hanged himself from the ceiling fan after which they called police.
