Delhi riots: 9 Muslims killed for defying chanting "Jay Shri Ram" slogan

Police have filed a charge sheet in a court this year for anti-Muslim riots in the Indian capital, Delhi, revealing that extremist Hindus attacked Muslims and killed nine people for defying chanting “Jay Shri Ram” Slogan.

According to the reports, on the church sheet of the FIR lodged at the Gokalpuri police station in connection with the murder of Hamza, one of the nine people killed, police said that on February 25, the second day of riots in Delhi, ‘Kattar Hindu Ekta‘ group of extremist Hindus had formed a WhatsApp group.

In a charge sheet filed by the Delhi Police in the court, the police revealed that the extremist Hindus who were in contact with each other on WhatsApp were asked to attack the Muslims and they asked each other to provide manpower, weapons and ammunition.

The charge sheet charges nine people with inciting riots and murder, including Lokesh Solanki, Pankaj Sharma, Ankit Chaudhry, Prince, Jaiten Sharma, Himanshu Thakur, Vikas Panchal, Reshbh Chaudhry and Seth Chaudhry.

The charge sheet states that the accused who created the WhatsApp group is still at large and police have allegedly cited some of Lokesh’s messages on the WhatsApp group on the night of February 26 and 27.

It was reported that Lokesh allegedly sent the first message at 11:39 a.m. in which it was said, “Bhai, I am Lokesh Solangi from Ganga Vihar. If there is any shortage of people, tell me. I will come with the entire Ganga Vihar team. We have everything, bullets, guns, everything.”

Then, at 11:44 a.m., Solanki sent another message to the group: “Around 9 pm, your brother killed two Muslims near Vihar and threw them into a ditch with the help of his team. Your brother is always ahead in this kind of work.”

According to the charge sheet, the group was formed on December 25 at 12:49 pm. Initially, the group had 125 members but on March 8, 2020, 47 people left the group.

Citing the WhatsApp sheet, police said their clear purpose was to burn and destroy the houses, properties, mosques of the Muslims, their purpose was to catch people and ask for their names and addresses. , To find out their religion by looking at the identity.

According to the charge sheet, They also chanted slogans of J. Shri Ram several times. People who did not chant slogans or who were found to be Muslims were killed and their bodies were dumped in Bhagirathi Vihar Nalla.

Police said the suspects, along with rioters, killed nine Muslims and injured several others.

The accused will respond to the allegations through their lawyer. After the court interprets the charge sheet, the lawyers of the accused will appear in the court.

It is to be noted that Delhi Police has so far filed at least 111 charge sheets in connection with the riots, which included the names of 650 people.

It may be recalled that protests against the controversial citizenship law have been going on in India since December 2019, but during the first visit of US President Donald Trump to India, on February 24 in the Indian capital New Delhi, these demonstrations suddenly turned into religious riots.

Religious riots erupted when thousands of people protested against the controversial citizenship law in New Delhi, where they were suddenly attacked by extremists and miscreants, which turned the protests into religious riots.

At least 53 people were killed and more than 400 injured during the riots, while a large Muslim population was targeted in Delhi.

The Indian Supreme Court, while hearing a petition against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), questioned the performance of the police.
