The 45th President of the United States of America accepted the Republican nomination for a second term in office and used the opportunity to attack Democratic rival, Joe Biden.
The U.S. President stated that a Biden victory in November would only worsen the racial strife and the Corona situation in the country.
Speaking from the white house lawn on Thursday, Trump portrayed Biden, a moderate career politician, as a far-left extremist who would usher in a dangerous and lawless America.
“This election will decide whether we protect law-abiding Americans, or whether we give free rein to violent anarchic agitators and criminals who threaten our citizens. No one will be safe in Biden’s America” Trump said.
After the incidents that took place with police shooting Jacob Blake, an African American man, and the riots that followed, Trump used the platform to claim that Biden would “defund the police.” Biden has rejected that position.
As the day progressed Joe Biden also took to Twitter stating When Donald Trump says tonight you won’t be safe in Joe Biden’s America, look around and ask yourself: How safe do you feel in Donald Trump’s America?”
