On Monday, the US mission in Pakistan has said that the US will be resuming student visa services for Pakistan from October 1st, 2020. The services were halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the statement, the student visa services will start at the Islamabad’s United States Embassy and US Consulate General in Karachi.

The statement termed the student visas as a “top priority” and said the US mission “will make every effort to assist student visa applicants as timely and safely as possible”.

The statement highlighted that almost 8,000 Pakistani students are studying at the United States’ universities and colleges, however, the US is looking forward to welcoming more students who are interested in the “American educational experience”.

The statement further said that to follow the COVID-19 safety measures, the applicants are required to wear masks and maintain social distance.

The visa processing will resume as soon as possible. Applicants who want to see if they have qualified for an emergency appointment can visit the mission’s website.
